Boating 101

Learn it live!

Your choice of courses:

Educational- For the novice boater
Competency- For the experienced boater that wants to be certified in the least amount of time
Paper Course- For the boater that wants safe boating education, without a hands on course

Educational Course:
This is an all day course with plenty of hands on training so that whatever water adventure you decided to pursue; fishing, skiing, or just cruising in the sunshine, we can help you to enjoy it even more! This course will give you peace of mind that you are a boating “correctly”. With that confidence, you will be able to relax and enjoy your experience on the water! Your Friends at Boating 101

Competency Course:

This is a half-day course, designed to let you get certified in a short amount of time. If you are a confident, experienced boater, this is the course for you. You will be rated on several areas of safe boating including:

Docking and Launching
Anchoring
Proper signals
Manuevering
Overall boat handling
Passenger safety

Where are the classes?

Classes are held on Folsom Lake, and Lake Berryessa. (more locations coming soon!)
Average class size is 5 people (private lessons can be arranged at an additional cost)
Educational Course: $250.00 per person. Competency Course: $160.00 per person.

Prior to attending the hands on course, you will be required to take a written exam provided by Boating101.
